Our client is one of the biggest and longest-established names in the commercial property world, specialising in the design and build of office interiors. Their training is second-to-none, offering both ongoing sales training as well as keeping you on top of all relevant information in their market. They’re now looking to grow their telemarketing / sales research team which gives you an amazing opportunity to grow a career within commercial property.


As brokers of commercial property deals, our client is constantly searching for prospective new business. Your role will involve making outbound calls to companies in London to ascertain whether they are moving office or refurbishing their current office in the next 12-18 months. If they are, then you need to find out key information such as the date of a move or a refurbishment, the people involved in the process, and the location of both the current office and the potential new office. Through your calls and your research skills, you’ll qualify the serious leads in the marketplace and prepare the full details for your more senior colleagues in the sales team. It’s exactly the same role as a junior broker in the financial world but in the property sector.

Day-to-day, you’ll be making 200-300 calls to prospective clients. Each potential lead you uncover offers a piece of work worth between £500,000 and £5million. With numbers like these, you’ll quickly understand that this market offers a great chance to earn amazing money.


The Sales Talent Matrix: Does this sound like you?

Knowledge: Ideally, you will have some experience (6-12 months) in a junior broker role or telemarketing / telesales but those new to sales are also welcome to apply; you should, at least, have some understanding of and interest in sales.

Attitude: This is the most important element. You should be driven to succeed, very hard-working and extremely tenacious – quitters should not apply! You’ve probably experienced failure as well as success (in sport, academia, music, drama, life itself) and shown the right approach to getting back on your feet again even when you’ve lost and are feeling low.

Skills: Good telephone manner with professional tone of voice; good organisational skills to track conversations and follow-up calls; excellent spoken and written English; a quick learner who picks things up quickly; you should have the speed of thought to respond to unexpected turns in client calls.

Habits: Happy to make high volume of calls daily; focused on success; a willing learner; well-organised; very hard-working (with proof of that!).
