Sales Executive, Finance – £35k
You are outgoing, hungry and hard-working with 6-12 months’ B2B telesales experience and the desire to take your sales career to the next level. Our client is well-established leader in the Foreign Exchange world with over 35 years’ success across the globe. With a strong team in their London Head Office, they are now looking for the next generation of sales superstars to drive their growth.
Based in their central London office, the role is simple in theory though rather more difficult in practice! Do it well and you’ll earn yourself a brilliant living and learn skills that you’ll use for the rest of your life. It will be your job to identify and source new corporate clients over the phone. You’ll need good research skills to uncover the right people as well as good organisational skills to access the companies already on their database. Once on the phone speaking to prospective clients, you’ll need to convey the professional image of the company in order to establish the credibility needed to start a discussion. Great questioning skills plus the curiosity to listen to the answers will open up opportunities to present the company’s credentials. For those companies interested, you’ll be setting up next steps such as a meeting or call with one of your more senior colleagues. Find the right people, gain their interest, book next steps – simple, eh?!
Once you have proven yourself a success in this role, there is a clear career path to a more senior role in which you have people booking next steps for you to speak to new clients. That’s when the real money and career development kicks in.
The Sales Talent Matrix: Does this sound like you?
Knowledge: You need 6-12 months’ experience of a similar outbound calling role in the FX market though outstanding candidates with a little less experience will be considered; you will have a good understanding of the FX sector and the benefits you’re able to offer corporate clients.
Attitude: Hungry (giving you the motivation to overcome the tough days); confidence (to speak to senior people who are busy); enthusiasm (to sound good over the phone); you should be very hard-working and extremely tenacious – quitters should not apply!
Skills: Good telesales skills with a professional tone of voice; good organisational skills to track conversations and follow-up calls; excellent spoken and written English; a quick learner who picks things up quickly; you should have the speed of thought to respond to unexpected turns in client calls; strong numeracy skills along with proficiency in CRM systems, Excel and Word.
Habits: Happy to make high volume of calls daily (80-100); focused on success; a willing learner; well-organised.
The starting salary for this role is £20-25,000pa depending on experience with first year earnings of £30-35,000 when you add in your commission and bonuses. In addition, there are several employee benefits available subject to a qualification period.
